More Vacation Fun for Claire

A Swinging Good Time
Claire and I made it back from our
Florida trip earlier today.
Thanks Grandma & Grandpa for a fabulous time! Most of all, Claire wants to thank Grandpa for her new swing. It was the highlight of her trip!

Cuban Pig Roast
While working on the landscaping at their new
camp, my parents made friends with the Cuban family who own the landscaping company.
Orlando invited us to a pig roast to celebrate the birth of his new grandson, Elijah. Claire had a blast! She tried some pork, black beans, rice and yuca,
based on cousin Thomas's recommendation.
She also rode a miniature pony, petted a three day old lamb and made lots of new friends!

Finally Here!
After what ended up being a fifteen hour wait in the Roanoke airport, we are FINALLY here! You can read about our ordeal in the local news:
Basically, we woke up at about 5:30 am to catch our Friday morning flight and ended up finally getting to my parents' house in Florida at 3:30 am the following day. Claire slept maybe an hour and a half total the entire day. Amazingly, she was in excellent spirits the whole time. She actually thought a whole day of a room full of people excited to play with her and mommy's undivided attention was loads of fun. When we finally got home she crashed, slept hours and took a seven hours worth of naps today. I think she's slowly getting back on her schedule. Thanks so much to all the people who called to check on us! Sorry I ignored some calls and couldn't talk long. I was rationing my cell phone battery.
(My charger was in my checked luggage.)
There will be lots of photos to follow of our time in Florida. In the meantime, I leave you with some photos of my family's renovated fish camp. It's looking beautiful with all the new landscaping.

Another Update
We are now closing in on 12 hours in the airport.
It's nearly 7:00 and they are expecting that a new plane with be at Roanoke for us to depart at 11:00. Claire has been SUCH a trooper. She's made lots of new friends. Some good news...
She's finally asleep! In the meantime, I'll leave you with a flashback photo of a much happier flight with Claire and David.
Still waiting for our 9:00 AM Flight...
Luckily they gave Claire this complimentary bottle of water.
That makes it all better, right?
